Sturtevant Campaign Launches New Spot Responding to Bloomberg Attack Ads
CHESTERFIELD- Following the news that billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has launched one of the biggest outside spending efforts in Virginia legislative election history, all in the form of negative attack ads against Glen Sturtevant, the Sturtevant campaign has hit the air to respond. In the ad, voters are reminded of how dependent the desperate campaign of Democrat Dan Gecker now is on massive spending from an out-of-state billionaire, and Glen, the father of three young children under the age of 6, speaks directly to the camera about his strong zero-tolerance policy for gun violence and his commitment to supporting mental health reforms to prevent tragedies from occurring. In addition to this new ad, local law enforcement leaders are rallying behind Sturtevant as he faces this onslaught of out-of-state big money. In a statement issued Wednesday evening, a former Attorney General of Virginia, the current sheriffs of Chesterfield and Powhatan, and the Commonwealth’s Attorneys in Chesterfield and Powhatan, and Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney of Chesterfield, stated: “All of us have served the Commonwealth in public safety positions. We are all dedicated to keeping Virginia families and communities safe. Shame on Mayor Bloomberg for spending his money trying to mislead the residents of Chesterfield, Richmond and Powhatan. Mayor Bloomberg is wrong. Those of us who have served in public safety and live here know the truth about Glen’s record, his character and his unwavering commitment to keeping Virginia families safe.”
